Inspiration Behind Link And Zelda

The most popular game series of The Legend of Zelda was basically designed as well as created by Japanese designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi. However, it was further developed and published by Nintendo. The game series was released in 2007, and since its release it has become one of the most well known and successful video game series ever developed. The game series centers on Link and Zelda who are main characters of this series and the series comprises of mixture action, adventure and puzzle solving. We can say that must be some inspiration behind Link and Zelda designed and created by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi.

As we considered about the inspiration behind Zelda and Link creation, it has been revealed that the designer Shigeru Miyamoto was actually inspired by his own exploration as a young boy in the hillsides surrounding his childhood home in Kyoto, Japan. When he was a young, he used to venture into the forests, secluded lakes and caves. Moreover, he even ventured into many rural villages. When he was venturing, he discover cave entrance in the middle of the woods. And Miyamoto revealed that this is one of the most memorable experiences of his life.

After Miyamoto discovered of the cave entrance in the middles, at first he was a little hesitated to enter the cave but later he entered the cave and he explored in depths with the help of a latten. According to some sources, this experience led to the idea behind Link and Zelda creation by Miyamoto. It has also been revealed that the creation of the most successful game series The Legend of Zelda is an attempt to bring to life a miniature garden for players to play with each game of the series. This in fact is the main inspiration behind Link and Zelda creation by the Japanese designers Miyamoto and Takashi.

When Miyamoto heard of the name of the American novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald’s wife Zelda, he felt that the name is quite pleasant as well as significant. He named the princess after Scott’s wife and titled his creation as The Legend of Zelda. This shows what inspired Miyamoto to create the characters of Link and Zelda for this superb creation The Legend of Zelda.
